Indian Bread Pakoda – Pakoda recipe using Bread !!!

Bread Pakoda

BreadPakoda Ingredients:

  • 8 Slices of Fresh Bread
  • 3-4 Medium size potatoes
  • 1 Cup Besan (Gram flour)
  • 1 Cup water
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Chili Powder
  • Pinch of soda (Bi carb)
  • Salt
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • 2-3 green Chilies
  • Coriander leaves
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Oil for Fry


  1. Boil the potatoes and smash them immediately.
  2. While we smash the Boiled Potatoes in separate Bowl, Heat the Oil in Frying Pan. Add Cumin seeds, finely chopped chili, Curry Leaves, Ginger garlic paste and mix well. Add Salt, Turmeric powder and then add smashed Potatoes, Finely chopped Coriander leaves to existing mixture. Mix well again. In one or two minutes shutdown the Gas flame and keep this aside.
  3. Take one more bowl and add Besan (gram flour), Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Salt for taste, Cumin Seeds, Pinch of soda (Bi carb), Ginger garlic paste, finely chopped coriander leaves, pour water to this mixture. Make sure this mixture should not much thick or thin. It should be medium

BreadPakoda1     4. Cut the Bread slices in triangle shapes. On one of the Bread slice apply 2-3 tp of Potato Sabzi (The mixture prepared in step 2) and cover it with other Slice (As shown in below fig)

5. Heat oil for deep frying. Once oil become hot, dip one piece of stuffed bread (as prepared in step 4) into the batter and leave in       hot oil. Deep fry over medium heat until color turns to golden. Serve Hot along with Tomato Ketchup or with Chutney.
